About the Role: How You will Contribute to The Service
The Halton Regional Police Service, in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, is offering the Youth in Policing Initiative (Y.I.P.I.) Program to address the growing needs of our youth. This eight-week summer paid employment opportunity is available to youth aged 15 to 18 from Priority Populations who reflect the cultural diversity of Halton Region.
Candidates must reside in Halton Region and be returning to a secondary school program in September 2025. The program will run from July 2, 2025, to August 22, 2025, offering approximately 35 working hours per week. The goal of Y.I.P.I. is to hire ten youth from the community, providing them with the chance to develop valuable employment skills while fostering stronger police-community relations.

Note: The successful applicant will need to pass a background check to the satisfaction of the Service which will include with verification of endorsement/recommendation, and a criminal background screen.

Hourly Rate: This is a paid student position ($17.20 per hour for an 8-week term (July 2, 2025 to August 22, 2025) contract
Working Hours: Up to 35 hours per week: Monday – Friday. 8:00am to 4:00pm
Location: This position is based out of Oakville or Burlington facility. Facility TBD
Transportation: Transportation: YIPI students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the location at the beginning and end of their workday.
Other: It is the responsibility of the YIPI students to supply their own snacks, lunch and water
